You have your organization all set up and you’re ready to enforce some time restrictions. Welcome! This article will show you how.
Hotshot’s time restricted groups are designed for situations in which businesses have hourly-wage (or in legalese ‘non-exempt’) employees and the administrator wants to restrict the times when their employees within that group can receive messages.
In order to make a restricted group based on time, thus limiting when your employees may view their messages, click on the nameplate of your organization in the top left corner of the screen. Click the “Settings” tab. Under the “Admin” header, you will see the “User Permissions” tab. Click it -- you will see this screen:
Click on the “Manage” button (next to the settings cog on the right side of the screen) of the group whose time permissions you’d like to change. In this case, that’s our TTH Workers Custom group, so we’ll click on the “Manage” button to the right of its name:
Since we’re adding Time Restrictions, we’ll click on the “Time Restrictions” tab. Once we click that tab, we’ll see this screen:
Here we’re able to restrict the days that people in the TTH Workers Custom Group, are able to view and respond to messages. We’ll need to click on the boxes next to each individual day to edit those hours. Let’s edit our employees’ app-usage hours to reflect their schedule on Tuesday and Thursday: 9 AM to 5 PM. Make sure to set the proper time zone, as well! Once we enact restrictions to reflect the team’s work week, our view will look like this:
Click the Update Time Restrictions button, and we see the green confirmation message about the blue button on this screen:
As we can see, Hours Restrictions are now enabled. When you get back to the User Groups screen, you’ll see this:
As you can see, the MWF Workers Custom Group now has a red “Restrictions Enforced” tab! Congratulations! You’ve successfully added time restrictions to a group.
